Deluxe Male Cancer Care Parcel Review

Although I’ve not yet acknowledged it on my blog, a month ago my amazing Dad, Keith Bennett passed away peacefully, after a FIVE year long battle with prostate cancer. Obviously, I was and still am absolutely devastated, but I intend on addressing this fully in another post when I am able to write more fully and openly about mine and my families loss.

BUT,

When I was approached by Cancer Care Parcels to review one of their products on my blog, I jumped at the opportunity. That’s because I feel like this is such a great initiative and something I wish I had known about sooner.

An easy way to show a loved one that you’re thinking of them, while giving them lots of little treats, as well as essential items to help make things that little bit easier, to give them a bit of support and also serve as a much needed distraction.

I chose to review the Deluxe Male Care Parcel because if I was gifted this item just a few months earlier, I could of given it to my Dad..

First of all I think that the packaging is fab, a great label which shows the receiver they  have loved one’s around them who care. But, more importantly, it’s what’s inside this Cancer Care Parcel that I want to tell you about, so below is a full list of everything that I received in my Deluxe Male package.

INSIDE THE BOX

  • Water Bottle
  • Peppermint Herbal Tea
  • USB Light
  • Sea-Band Anti Nausea Wristband
  • Super-soft Neck Cushion
  • Hand Warmer
  • Earphones
  • Digital Thermometer
  • Hand Sanitiser
  • Nivea For Men
  • Vaseline Lip Therapy
  • Eye Gel Mask
  • Colour Therapy Stress Pad
  • Colouring Pencils
  • Two Packets Of Tissues
  • Chocolate & Ginger Tea
  • Battery Operated Light
  • E45 Cream
  • Food Bag Cooler
  • Powerseed Portable Power Bank
  • Body Shop Mens Face Protection
  • Super Soft Blanket

Now, I can only speak from my own experiences here, and obviously depending on what type of cancer someone has will affect what items/products they would most benefit from receiving, but this Deluxe Male Package is full of items my dad could, and would have used had he been sent one of these parcels.

Items such as the E45 Cream, Vaseline Lip Therapy, Nivea for Men Moisturiser and Body Shop Face Protector would have been ideal as the Chemotherapy seriously dried out my dads skin, making it very fragile and sore.

Other items I know he would have used are the USB Power Bank Charger and Earphones, ideal for long days at the hospital, waiting around, during Chemo and also just general use – both of which I think are fab to include and would be beneficial to most people.

The Cancer Care Parcel also has a comfort element that I think is another great addition to the package, this including the Super Soft Blanket, Travel Neck Cushion, Food Bag Cooler, Hand Warmer and Anti Nausea Wristbands – all of which are super useful for cancer patients.

They say in life that sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference – and in this case I’d say that is definitely true, all of these little products/items are a perfect combination of what those battling cancer could use to help them in day-to-day life.

The Deluxe Male Cancer Care Parcel costs £149.99 which I do think is a little pricey, but there are loads of different packages to choose from all at varying costs. The great thing about this is, there are different types of parcels available for different types of cancer, for Men, Women and Children, and I can only see this growing in the future.

I will be completely honest, there are some items in this package that I don’t think my dad would have ever used, but that’s not to say that they would go unused as I’m sure another member of my family would have jumped at them.

I for one cannot wait for the day that science kicks cancer’s arse, but until that day comes all we can do is support and love those battling cancer. For more info you can check out their website, and find them on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

look at the listings to find out what’s included in what package & what you think the loved one you’re sending the package to would like/need. My final thought on this would be, perhaps in the future the company could look at making personalised packages, provide us with a list of items they can include so that we can hand select our Cancer Care Parcels for our loved ones.

And, for all of you reading this who know someone affected by cancer, I give you all my love and support, you are not alone, and if you ever want to talk feel free to tweet me or private message me.
