Sky High Afternoon Tea | Roberts Bakery Event

Without doubt this event was something rather special, being suspended 110ft in the air, while enjoying afternoon tea provided by Roberts Bakery, was a completely new and exhilarating experience of which I enjoyed every minute.

Launching a new forward-thinking inspired rebrand of a company that’s over 130 years old is no easy task, but this Event in the Sky idea was the prefect setting and it was clearly enjoyed by all who took part.

Based at Manchester City’s Football Grounds, the invite-only Sky High event took lucky groups of 22 guests on a once in a life time experience, sampling Roberts quirky new products while enjoying the Manchester skyline views from all across our great city.

When we arrived at the venue, we were welcomed with a glass of fizz (or two) and got to have a chat with some of Roberts Bakery’s representatives, who I have to say were all wonderful to speak to, they gave us lots of great info and facts about the company and were a delight to chat with.

Prior to the event, we were given our very own ‘boarding pass’ which was a wonderful little touch, and really added to the overall excitement of the event and made it feel even more special and personal.

After a brief safety talk by one of the Event In The Sky team, we were taken to the platform and fastened into our seats, by this point I was starting to get butterflies and feel a little nervous, the adrenaline starting to kick-in. And once everyone was securely fastened in, we started to ascend into the Manchester Sky.

On board our ‘flight’ we were provided with menu’s which listed all of the delicious food that they had in store for us.

I think out of all of Roberts Bakery’s new products, the Gin and Tonic Fun Buns were definitely the talk of the event, and they were amazingly sweet savour treats with a difference – Roberts Bakery are injecting some much-needed fun and excitement into typically mundane products.

Creating new and innovative versions of products that have been produced for over 130 year is something rather special. Sales of your standard white bread are in decline as shoppers are opting for more healthy or exciting products in favour of the old faithful white sliced loaf.

So why not add a bit of flavour to your afternoon tea and try some of Roberts Bakery’s kooky new products – you can check out their website, Follow them on Twitter, and their products are available in-store at both Morrisons and ASDA, and online at all major supermarkets.

You’re welcome.
