The FIREPIT is without a doubt Yorkshire’s newest hot spot – transforming Bingley’s old Fire Station into a quirky new Smokehouse eatery and Sports Bar has given a new lease of life to this beautiful grade II listed building.
Maintaining some of the stations original features, including the tower and fire station doors, it offers its guests a UK version of an American Diner and with its neon light signage and American inspired interior, the Firepit is a great addition to Yorkshire’s nightlife.
I attended the VIP launch party prior to it opening to the public on Friday 7th April with my mum and dad in tow, and it really is a fantastic venue. Transforming and repurposing an old building into something new and innovative always gets a thumbs up from me, but to fully understand how brilliant this venue is, you have to visit it for yourself. To be sat in a building full of so much character and history, knowing that fire fighters used to occupy the space really is a unique experience.
It’s quirky, industrial American diner theme is a welcoming setting, and the blending of the old building and it’s features, with the new interior design is what makes this venue so special. Boasting a private upstairs space equipped with a pool table and flat screen TV, and it’s wrap around outdoor terrace, with beautiful canal views, this venue has something for everyone to enjoy.
Comprised of two elements, this new venture is a combination of a Smokehouse and a Sports Bar, spread out over two floors. This unique restaurant and bar offers diners a brilliant Smokehouse Menu and the opportunity to watch all of the latest Sports on 3M x 1.5M LED screens, the perfect combination.
As this was the launch night, select menu options were served through-out the event, and everything that we got to try tasted fantastic and was the ideal types of food anybody would want in a Sports Bar. Burgers, chicken wings and other smokehouse snacks were served alongside fully loaded wedges covered in all kinds of succulent smokehouse meats, chicken, cheese and sauces.
It’s making me hungry just thinking about it.
They also offer a range of cocktails – so although it is a Sports bar, they do cater to everybody. I will be going back shortly so that I can try out different items off the menu, and will report back with my findings in a new blog post – but if the canapés and tasters are anything to go by, diners are in for a real treat.
The event was a huge success, and the venue was packed wall to wall with guests eager to get a look in at Yorkshire’s latest addition from the moment we arrived, right up until when we left.
We had a great, fun filled evening, with fire breathers, stilt walkers, an awesome DJ and I also have to give a special shout out to the head waitress, Ellie! She was a delight to speak to and my mum and dad loved her, all of the staff were really helpful and friendly but Ellie was just fab.
I would recommend anybody in the Yorkshire area to check out this alternative venue – whether you’re from Yorkshire or just on a day out, it’s clear that the Firepit is Bingley’s new place to be.
